SHIBORI - tale of threads

Shibori tie-dye is a Japanese tie and dye technique where clothes get crumbled after the stitching is done. Thread works as the resisting medium here. For Shibori stitched tie and dye, I have chosen 'symmetry' as the theme of my design pattern. I have explored various symmetry patterns by stitching on fabric.
Pattern exploration on paper:
Tried some symmetrical patters on clothes :
Experimenting with layering and combining different colors :
Draft on paper : I have chosen this pattern for my final work, that is - a pair of garment that comprised upper and lower, which will be having this symmetrical pattern on it.
This is how the stitched fabric looks like after it got dyed:
My final work comprised a top and a skirt :
Thank you.
